 Jean Chrétien, Prime Minister of Canada, with Ara Sarafian (c.) and Jim Karygiannis (r.), Member of Parliament (Scarborough-Agincourt). Sarafian presented a copy of the British Parliamentary Blue Book to the Prime Minister during the meeting, which was arranged by Mr. Karygiannis. Following the meeting, Sarafian stated, "Prime Minister Chrétien was interested in Armenians and well aware of the Armenian Genocide issue. He said he looked forward to reading the Blue Book. I hope he does so." Sarafian edited and wrote the introduction to the "Uncensored Edition" of the British Parliamentary Blue Book, a seminal work: James Bryce and Arnold Toynbee, The Treatment of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire, 1915–1916 (Princeton, N.J.: Gomidas Institute, 2000).
